University of Miami Football HIstory

The "U" began its football program in 1926. It was not until the 1980's that the program came into its own. Since 1983 the U has won 5 National Championships. On top of that the school is known for owning the longest home game winning streak of 58 games between 1985 and the early 1990's. My father was a part of these teams. Additionally, the U has consistently produced more NFL football players than any other college football program in the country. Currently, players like Ray Lewis, Jeremy Shockey, Frank Gore, Santana Moss and Ed Reed dot the NFL landscape. The program has also produced two Heisman Trophy winners, Vinnie Testaverde and Gino Toretta. Many NFL Hall of Famers also come from the Canes including Michael Irvin, Jim Kelly and Ted Hendricks. FEAR THE FUTURE OF THE "U" BECAUSE THEY WILL BE BACK!
